A Word from CoachTV
Our most recent exhibition entitled "The Buffet Allusion" tries to question the basics of consumption, entertainment and beauty by first
examining the gray area of knowing. These investigations lead CoachTV to develop inquiries as to the nature of compromise and the intersection of fair/unfair (value/morals).
What does imagery tell us about the history of our cultural condition? How do visual modern trends compare to avant-garde aesthetics? How does the constant cycle of consumption and waste define what/who we are as individuals? If one looks beyond the given, what is left to see? Can the act of compromise bring forth new discourse?
The assessment and comprehension of these ponderings is determined chiefly by the individual that considers them. A single set of conclusions is as cognitively malleable as the original question
itself. What one person interprets may in turn be taken by another as a fully realized concept for further meditation, a mere con of reason or something in-between. What these understandings become beyond the private thought process is where new discoveries are made and questions are truly answered.
